Graduate students are responsible for keeping track of several different sets of dates and deadlines, which can be challenging. Some are for one-time events relating to linear progress toward the degree (such as approval of the Ph.D. exam reading list); some are on a cycle and common to all or almost all students (such as annual renewal of assistantships); and some are optional but represent desirable opportunities at a particular stage of a student’s graduate career (such as dissertation fellowship applications). The guide below is provided to help students navigate these several distinct systems of deadlines. Please be aware that exact dates shift slightly from year to year and should always be checked with the relevant office.
